Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship invites applications from international students who are interested to pursue postgraduate studies at Dalhousie University Canada. Abdul Majid Bader, who was born in the capital of Iran, went to the U.S. for advanced studies. He obtained a Master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. A number of occurrences, including the death of his father and the announcement of the Islamic Republic in Iran, have altered the course of Mr. Bader’s career.  In the early 1990s, Mr. Bader had the opportunity to become a permanent resident in Canada.  A few years ago, Mr. Bader decided to set up a large part of his Canadian investments at Dalhousie University to finance the Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship Fund for global doctoral or masters students.

The university is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is ranked one of the most friendly towns in the globe. Founded in 1818, it is one of Canada’s oldest universities. Mr. Bader decided that the scholarship should be directed to global students, with the first priority being Iranian students, who are residents of Iran.

Scholarship Coverage

Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship 2020 provides the recipient with the following benefits

The scholarship is valued at $40,000 for one twelve-month academic year of full-time study. The scholarship is renewable, subject to an annual progress review. The award can be held for a maximum of 24 months of full-time study.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship 2020, the applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Required Language: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All world countries
  • First preference will be given to Iranian students who are residents of Iran.
  • Scholarships will be awarded to students who have applied for or are enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program at Dalhousie University.
  • Second preference will be given to other international students.
  • Applicants with first class standing in their last two years of academic study, who are currently pursuing or intending to pursue
    studies in any discipline in which Dalhousie offers graduate degrees are welcome to apply once they have submitted an application for admission to their intended program of study.
  • Applications may also be submitted by departments for eligible students who have applied or been accepted into a graduate
  • Fees are not waived and must be paid out of the award.
